Opportunity Profile:
Provide supervision and guidance to bargaining unit employees. Ensure that SOPs and GMPs are followed and that safety rules and OSHA regulations are observed at all times by all employees. Provide guidance on equipment and product problems that occur on the shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise shift Production employees. This includes extensive time on the production floor to ensure that SOPs and GMPs are followed and safety rules and OSHA regulations are observed.
Schedule employees and assign production rooms. Review and check-off formula sheets and required federal documentation so that product can move to the next step in production. Record, file, and maintain employee attendance records. Troubleshoot and solve problems and issues that arise with equipment or material. Manage employee issues and attend to employee needs. Discuss disciplinary action with upper management and then responsible for giving the appropriate disciplinary action.
Meet with shift supervisor(s) to communicate production schedule, production status, issues and/or problems. Assist Quality Assurance staff with production/quality problems.
Re-write SOPs as needed and/or as assigned. Read, yearly, all SOPs for area of responsibility and/or for area(s) trained. Read, yearly, CFR regulations that pertain to area of responsibility. Conduct safety training meetings within the group. Train employees on SOP changes. Train new hires. Ensure training is signed-off and filed. Send training record(s) to the Training Office. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree with 3 years production experience in the pharmaceutical industry or specialized industry or a minimum of a Master's Degree with 1 year production experience in the pharmaceutical industry or specialized industry. However a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. The successful candidate must possess thorough knowledge of GMPs and SOPs. Must possess strong supervisory, communications, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
